Kern Valley
The Kern River Valley Sheriff’s Activities League was established in February 2008. Deputy Eric Levig, SAL Coordinator, works closely with 25 SAL members, ranging in age from 8 to 18. Kern Valley Deputies and SAL volunteers participate and help organize activities and events which include: hiking, fishing, dodge ball, and Friday dinner & a movie nights.
The Kern Valley SAL kids have been active in recent events, such as: Whiskey Flat Days Rodeo, Kern County Sheriff’s Reserve Rodeo, and the Kern Valley Fishing Derby. In addition, the kids made and distributed Easter Bags to the assisted living care facilities in Kern Valley. Meeting locations vary depending on the activity.
